Denver bounces back, topples Indiana in NBA

DENVER Nuggets returned to their winning ways with a 125-116 victory over Indiana Pacers in the 2024-25 NBA Regular Season on Monday night (Tuesday in the Philippines) at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Aaron Gordon spearheaded the offense with 25 points, while Michael Porter Jr. posted a double-double of 19 points and 11 rebounds as the Nuggets improved to a 38-20 win-loss slate.

Nikola Jokic added 18 points, nine rebounds and a career-high 19 assists, while Christian Braun, Jamal Murray, and Zeke Nnaji had 17, 16, and 14, respectively, for Denver, which bounced back from a 123-100 loss to Los Angeles Lakers.

The Nuggets were in control of the game from the start and led by as many as 17 points in the third quarter before the Pacers rallied back in the fourth quarter to cut the deficit to 107-113.

Denver, however, responded with conversions from Gordon and Jokic as they stretched the lead back to nine points at 125-116 with under a minute left in the contest.

Myles Turner led Indiana with 23 points. Tyrese Haliburton added 19 points and 15 assists, Pascal Siakam had 19 points and nine rebounds, Aaron Nesmith scored 17 points and Obi Toppin finished with 11. They dropped to a 32-24 record.

Meanwhile, Josh Giddey tallied 25 points, 16 rebounds and six assists as Chicago Bulls (23-35) snapped a six-game losing streak with an emphatic 142-110 road victory over Philadelphia 76ers (20-37).

Kevin Huerter also made his presence felt with 23 points, Zach Collins notched 19 markers to cover up for the absence of Bulle center Nikola Vucevic, which sat out due to a calf injury.

Kelly Oubre Jr. and Paul George finished with 19 points apiece for Philadelphia, which lost its eighth straight game, continued to play without star center Joel Embiid (knee).

Detroit Pistons (32-26), on the other hand, cruised to their seventh straight win by taking down Los Angeles Clippers (31-26), 107-96. Cade Cunningham had 32 points, nine assists, and seven rebounds for Detroit./PN
