DepEd-Aklan gets new schools division superintendent

KALIBO, Aklan – The Department of Education (DepEd) Division of Aklan has a new schools division superintendent.

Dr. Miguel Mac D. Aposin, who was previously assigned in Iloilo Division, took over the post of Dr. Salvador Onating Ochavo, Jr. 

Aposin of Pontevedra, Capiz formally assumed his new post on Tuesday.

With the new assignment in Aklan, Aposin will supervise the school districts in Buruanga, Malay, Nabas, Ibajay East, Ibajay West, Tangalan, Makato, Numancia, Lezo, Malinao, Madalag, Kalibo I, Kalibo II, Banga, Libacao, Balete, Batan, Altavas, and New Washington.

He graduated his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics in Filamer Christian University (formerly Filamer Christian College) in 1987 and his Master of Education specializing in Administration and Supervision at West Visayas State University (1999) and Doctor of Education in Educational Management at Capiz State University (2006).

The province’s new schools division superintendent started his public school teaching in 1988 as Teacher I in Hipona (Puentevedra) National High School. In 2007, he was the principal of Tuburan National High School (Maayon, Capiz) and Florentina Batoampo Degala National High School (Roxas, Capiz) in 2008.

Aposin was also designated as officer-in-charge-Assistant Schools Division Superintendent DepEd Capiz and principal of Malonoy National High School (Dao, Capiz) in 2009.

He was the Schools Division Superintendent of DepEd Capiz for three years until he was assigned in DepEd Iloilo on July 2018. (With a report from Akean Forum/PN)
