BACOLOD City – A 53-year-old resident of Barangay Blumentritt, Murcia, Negros Occidental was found dead in their house.
Ricardo Debulgado Bastargo committed suicide by hanging, said Chief Inspector Robert Indiape Jr., Murcia police head.
His body was found at around 10:40 a.m. on Tuesday.
It was already in a state of decomposition, police said, but it was not immediately clear as of this writing how long Bastargo has been dead.
A telephone cord was found tied around his neck, police said.
According to his family, Bastargo was suffering from “severe depression,” said the police.
The remains were taken to the Eastern Funeral Homes for an autopsy. (With Mae Singuay/PN)
