ILOILO City –Financial problems drove a 36-year-old woman to stab herself with a broken beer bottle.
A resident of Zone 6, Barangay Boulevard, Molo district, she injured herself in front of her common-law husband who was attending a neighbor’s wake on August 3.
Her partner Anacleto Ignacio, 30, took the woman to the Iloilo Doctors’ Hospital.
The woman sustained a deep cut on an arm.
According to the Molo police station, the woman appeared drunk when she hurt herself.
Witnesses said she had an argument over money with her partner before grabbing a beer bottle, breaking it, and wounding herself using it./PN
