MANILA – Former senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. was rushed to the St. Luke’s Medical Center at Bonifacio Global City on Saturday morning due to erratic blood pressure and unexplained vomiting, his wife Bacoor mayor Lani Mercado said.
Revilla, who is being detained at the Philippine National Police Detention Center for plunder charges, vomited twice on Saturday morning and was experiencing severe migraine attacks and high blood pressure, said Mercado.
“We got worried due to [the] family history of aneurysm,” the mayor told ABS-CBN News.
Revilla is now undergoing several tests and will be under observation at the hospital, she said.
Revilla and former senators Jinggoy Estrada and Juan Ponce Enrile were charged with plunder in 2014 for allegedly allocating millions of pesos of their pork barrel funds to fake non-government organizations set up by businesswoman Janet Lim Napoles.
They were also charged with graft in connection with their allegedly anomalous priority development assistance fund disbursements: from 2006 to 2010 for Revilla, 2004 to 2010 for Ejercito, and 2004 to 2012 for Enrile. (ABS-CBN News)
