DFA, PRC urged to put up satellite offices in Kalibo

KALIBO, Aklan – Vice Mayor-elect Cynthia dela Cruz is urging the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) and the Professional Regulations Commission (PRC) to put up their respective satellite offices in this capital town.

“Thousands of Aklanons would benefit if these agencies would put up their satellite offices in Kalibo for the processing of both passports and professional documents,” she stressed.

Dela Cruz recently filed a resolution in the Sanguniang Bayan requesting DFA and PRC to set up their satellite offices in Kalibo.

Currently, Aklan residents have to travel four hours to Iloilo City and vice versa to secure documents released by various government agencies.

“The National Bureau of Investigation has now put up its office in Kalibo, maybe now it is a high time to once again appeal to PRC and DFA to put up their office here,” dela Cruz said.

Aside from Aklan, residents from nearby towns of Capiz, northern Antique and Boracay Island may also avail themselves of the accessible government services, she added./PN
