MANILA – More Ilonggos – this time from the A. Diasnes Taekwondo Gym – took home six medals after the 2018 National CPJ Taekwondo Championships at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
Cindy Joy Diasnes captured two silver medals – one in the individual junior women poomsae and another with Sophia Marie in the junior women team poomsae.
Winning bronze medals were Angelie Marie Perillo in individual cadet girls, Alfie Diasnes in individual men’s senior 1 and Floramie Navales in individual women’s senior 1B.
Kean Ryth Bornazal finished sixth in individual cadet boys in the tournament last weekend. Perillo and Bornazal also competed in mixed pair cadet event and finished on fifth place.
“This will be our motivation to work even harder for our next competitions,” said playing coach Navales. “But no pressure as long as the kids enjoyed, gave their best, and accepted defeat and victory.”
“In every competition, we have a mind-set to win,” she said. “But winning does not mean you’ll get a medal. Winning is all about self-improvement.”/PN
