Panay News is the only local newspaper with a correspondent in Malacañang.
The paper’s first Palace correspondent was Sammy Julian. This was during the administration of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
Julian went on to become president of the Malacañang Press Corps (MPC). This was a feat in itself considering that most MPC presidents belonged to national media outlets.
