DIESEL and kerosene prices are set to drop while gasoline prices will increase ahead of the All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day break.

Effective 6 a.m. today, Petron, Pilipinas Shell and Seaoil said diesel prices will go down by P1.25 per liter while kerosene prices will decline by P1.20 per liter.

The pump price of gasoline, meanwhile, will increase by 45 centavos per liter.

Caltex and Cleanfuel will implement the same fuel price hikes beginning 12:01 a.m.

Unioil and Jetti Petroleum price hikes on gasoline and diesel will also take effect at 6 a.m.

This marks the second consecutive week of price increases for gasoline.

Last week, pump prices rose by 95 centavos per liter for gasoline, P1.30 per liter for diesel and P1.25 per liter for kerosene.

This resulted in a year-to-date net increase of P13.75 per liter for gasoline, P11.70 per liter for diesel, and P6.24 per liter for kerosene, according to the Department of Energy (DOE).

DOE data show that as of Oct. 26, prevailing retail prices in Metro Manila ranged from P57.65 per liter to P86.40 per liter. (Meg J. Adonis © Philippine Daily Inquirer)
