ILOILO – Four more provincial roads totaling 30.966 kilometers are up for rehabilitation under the Conditional Matching Grant to Provinces (CMGP) program of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).
DILG already endorsed to the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) the release of P413,885,031.05 for the implementation of the projects.
CMGP was formerly known as the Konkreto at Ayos na Lansangan at Daan Tungo sa Pangkalahatang Kaunlaran (Kalsada) program.
The provincial roads to be rehabilitated and their corresponding project cost are the following:
* Mina-Talibong-Yugot-Nabitasan-Naslo Road covering the towns of Mina and Pototan (8.812 kms) – P121,815,217.20
* Cabugao-Banban-Toyungan road in Calinog (13.7 kms) – P165,871,562
* Batad-Embarkadero road in Batad (2.518 kms) – P43,624,512.85
* Carles Poblacion-Bancal/Abong-Tarong road in Carles (5.936 kms) – P82,573,739
Engr. Isagani Baldevieso of the Provincial Engineers Office (PEO) said the Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) is now preparing the documents for the bidding of the projects.
Under the former Kalsada program, DILG released P162 million for the rehabilitation of 15.3-kilometer provincial road linking Anilao, Dingle and San Enrique towns, which is already nearing completion.
Meanwhile, the bidding process for another road project under the Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP), which is spearheaded by the Department of Agriculture and World Bank, has commenced. This is the rehabilitation of the 9.9-kilometer Tinucuan-Purog-Maribuyong, Dueñas farm-to-market road with a project cost of P101,596,718.38.
There are three ongoing PRDP road rehabilitation projects in the province. These are the following:
* Imbang Grande-Tagubong-Gemomua-Agahon-Agtabo, Passi farm-to-market road with a length of 28 kms – P257,800,001
* Pob. Tacuyong Norte, Leon farm-to-market road with a length of 10.29 kms – P114 million
* Parara-Jamog, Tigbauan farm-to-market road with a length of 7.89 kms amounting – P76,283,727.77
Two more road projects are still waiting for inclusion in PRDP. These are San Antonio-Lambuyao-Abilay, Oton farm-to-market road (4.460 kms) and Bongol-Tambal-Quipot, Janiuay farm-to-market road (12.918 kms). (Erly Garcia, Capitol News/PN)
