ALL ROADS led to SM City Iloilo on Friday night, October 14, 2022, for the launching of the most anticipated face-to-face Dinagyang Festival 2023.
A 100-day countdown to the world-famous festival kicked off at SM City Iloilo Southpoint.
Spectators were also treated to a glimpse of some Dinagyang 2023 activities such as the “Kasadyahan sa Kabanwahan” and the festival innovation “Dinagyang Ilomination”.
The Dinagyang 2023 launching wrapped up with a spectacular fireworks display.
The ceremonial drum beating which signaled the start of the 100-day countdown to Dinagyang 23 was led by Iloilo City’s Vice Mayor Jeffrey Ganzon on behalf of Mayor Jerry P. Treñas, Iloilo City’s Rep. Julienne Baronda, Iloilo Festivals Foundation, Inc. (IFFI) president Jose Layson Jr., San Jose de Placer parish priest Reverend Father Renchie Vicente Senoro, and SM SuperMalls Group Marketing Manager for Visayas-3 Kristine Joyce Yap.
Through the years SM City has been a significant partner of the city government in many initiatives, and especially in making the Dinagyang Festival a world-class cultural extravaganza./PN
