ILOILO City – Twenty schools are competing in today’s drum and lyre contest “Tambor, Trumpa, Martsa, Musika”, one of the features of the annual Dinagyang Festival.
Fourteen schools are seeing action in the elementary school category and six in the secondary school category.
The 14 competing elementary schools are:
* A. Montes 1 Elementary School
* Ungka II Elementary School-Pavia
* Quintin Salas Elementary School
* Sambag Elementary School
* Rizal Elementary School
* Iloilo Central Elementary School
* Arevalo Elementary School
* A. Mirasol Elementary School
* Mandurriao Elementary School
* La Paz I Elementary School
* Feliciana Java Kelly Elementary School
* Baluarte Elementary School
* Alimodian Elementary School
* San Matias Elementary School from Dingle, Iloilo
Meanwhile, the six secondary schools competing are:
* Ramon Avanceña National High School
* Iloilo City National High School
* Tambaliza National High School from Concepcion, Iloilo
* Ajuy National High School
* Balete National High School from Aklan
* Dingle National High School
The competition starts at 7:30 a.m. with a parade from Arroyo Fountain on F. Caram Avenue to the Iloilo City Dinagyang Grandstand on Muelle Loney Street.
Each contingent has a maximum of seven minutes to perform.
