DINGDONG Dantes is set to headline a movie with Charo Santos titled “Love After Love.”
In an interview with MJ Felipe of ABS-CBN News, Dingdong relayed that the movie will start filming this coming April.
“The script, sumailalim sa maraming revisions. I think sakto lang ‘yung panahon ngayon at magagawa na namin siya,” he shared.
The actor said the film was pitched to them before the lockdown happened due to the pandemic.
“Mula nang umpisa naman, nung na-conceptualize ‘yung project, ‘yun na talaga. Kami na talaga ‘yung team. Walang ibang casting. It was really written with us in mind. Medyo na-stall lang ng konti ’cause the script had to go through revisions, konting pagbabago, ready’ng-ready na siya.”
“Love After Love” will be directed by Irene Villamor who also wrote the screenplay.
When asked if the movie will be submitted as an entry for the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), Dingdong responded: “Kahit nung ginawa namin siya dati, hindi naman siya talaga intended for film fest. But of course, lahat ng mga bagay hindi natin… wala sa ating mga kamay ‘yan. Ang mahalaga is makagawa tayo ng mga creative and compelling stories.”
Last year, Dingdong headlined the MMFF entry “Rewind” alongside his wife Marian Rivera.
The movie became the highest grossing Filipino movie of all time.
“Iba ‘pag nakakausap mo mga tao at kwinento paano naging impact sa buhay nila. ‘Yun priceless… Itong figure says ganito kadami nanood. We are so grateful we were able to tell the story,” Dingdong remarked during the thanksgiving event of the film last January.
The movie was screened at the Manila International Film Festival in Los Angeles, California on February 2 wherein Dingdong received the Best Actor award alongside Piolo Pascual who starred in another MMFF entry title “Mallari.” (PUSH)
