ILOILO City – A 15-year-old-girl found dead in Sitio Nabajo, Barangay Camambugan, Dingle, Iloilo on Nov. 12 was murdered.
She died of traumatic injuries on the head and neck, results of the autopsy conducted by Dr. Owen Lebaquin of the Police Regional Office 6 showed.
She was hit on the head with a hard object and strangled, according to Lebaquin.
However, Lebaquin could not conclude if the girl was raped. The body was already in a state of decomposition when fished out of the river in Sitio Nabajo.
“She had no external genitalia anymore,” said Lebaquin.
The body was found around 3:40 p.m. on Sunday by fisherman Joel Neri.
She was last seen alive on Oct. 28 around 8 a.m. asking permission from her grandfather to leave the house. She failed to come back.
According to Senior Inspector Samuel Vipinosa, Dingle police chief, investigators invited three persons for questioning.
The girl’s family believed she was raped before she was killed.
The victim was living with her grandparents. She would every now and then leave the house and stay with other relatives for days, according to the grandparents./PN
