MANILA – De La Salle University Green Archers pulled away in the third quarter to topple Adamson University Falcons, 71-58, in the UAAP Season 86 Men’s Basketball on Wednesday night at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

The Green Archers were trailing 35-38 early in the third quarter when Evan Nelle, Kevin Quiambao, and Michael Phillips took over to turn things around with a massive 23-0 scoring run.

In the said run, Nelle made six points, Quiambao had nine, Phillips got five, and Joaqui Manuel added three to give the Green Archers a commanding 58-38 lead with 1:16 left in the third quarter.

“It was really a challenging game for us. We know Adamson will come into this game with a lot of confidence. We just have to make sure we’re gonna come out knowing this is gonna be big for us,” said Green Archers head coach Topex Robinson.

Jhon Calisay led the Soaring Falcons with 12 points, all in the first half, while Matthew Erolon also chipped in 10 points as they suffered their second defeat as against two victories.
