DOH gives ambulances to 7 Bacolod city barangays

BACOLOD City – The Department of Health (DOH) in Western Visayas is expected to turn over seven ambulance units to seven barangays, according to Lone District representative Greg Gasataya.

Gastaya said the total amount for the ambulances, including equipment, cost more than P17 million. Gastaya listed the barangays of Banago, Cabug, Felisa, Handumanan, Mansilingan, Punta Taytay, and Tangub as the recipients. The Bacolod city council approved Mayor Evelio Leonardia’s request for authority to sign the Deed of Donation between the city and the DOH. Both the Local Government Unit (LGU) and the DOH agreed the donation is to boost Universal Health Care, making it more accessible to the poor and vulnerable sectors.

The donation is part of the DOH’s Health Facilities Enhancement Program (HFEP) which aims to improve delivery of health services, and upgrade health facilities and provisions of medical equipment./PN
