The advent of modern technology has required us to become computer literates.

To boost the competence of the workforce in the region, the Department and Labor and Employment (DOLE) in Western Visayas is currently conducting a series of free training on Digital Arts/Information Technology (IT) Plus as part of the Labor Month celebration this May.

Already kicked off on May 5, the said skill training has already benefited a total of 76 people who are mostly informal sector workers and of the out-of-school youth.

The training is conducted in seven batches with three sessions each. It aims to provide participants the necessary skills in digital arts which they can use in their future jobs.

The training comes with a module on photo editing using Photoshop CS-6 which focuses on exploring the applications and features of the program.

DOLE-6 Regional Director Ponciano Ligutom is happy to note the training was made possible through the help of partners who became instruments in making this year’s Labor Day celebration a huge success.

The participants also expressed their gratitude to DOLE-6 for coming up with the training. They added it helped them prepare for the future and enhance their skills in digital arts.

The Digital Arts (IT Plus) Training is being held at STI Iloilo, Mission Road, Jaro, Iloilo City.

The first five batches of training have already concluded. These were held on May 5-7; May 8, 9 and 12; May 13-15; May 16, 19-20; and May 21-23.

Meanwhile, the last two batches will be held on May 26-28, and May 29-30 and June 2./PN
