ILOILO City – The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Region 6 targets to offer 20,000 jobs this upcoming Labor Day celebration.
The May 1 job fair will be held at Robinsons Place Jaro on E. Lopez Street in Jaro district.
DOLE Region 6 information officer Amy Judicpa said 50 local companies have already expressed interest to join the fair. They will offer around 5,000 jobs.
Most of these firms are into business process outsourcing, manufacturing, and food and accommodation.
There will also be 10 overseas recruitment agencies that will offer 10,000 jobs related to healthcare, food and accommodation, and construction.
“We are targeting to offer around 20,000 – or even more – jobs,” stressed Judicpa, adding that they were still waiting for other firms to commit.
DOLE Region 6 is encouraging job seekers, especially fresh graduates, to participate in the fair.
Should they come, they must bring with them their resume, transcript of records, and diploma, among others.
They can also come to the DOLE Region 6 office on Commission Civil Street in Jaro for pre-registration. The office is open weekdays, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
