BACOLOD City – The son and namesake of the late “King of Comedy” Dolphy addressed the participants of the symposium “City-Wide Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program” at the Bacolod Arts Youth and Sports (BAYS) Center.
Rodolfo Quizon Jr., also known as “Dolphy Jr.,” was a former drug dependent. He successfully turned his life around and shared his road to recovery on Wednesday.
Changing for good is not yet too late, he told participants composed of drug surrenderers from various barangays.
“I prefer to call you guys reformists, instead of surrenderers,” he said.
Attend the symposium was already a start of the reformation, he stressed.
The event was organized by the Bacolod City Anti-Drug Abuse Council (CADAC) chaired by Mayor Evelio Leonardia. He emphasized the significance of the program in helping the surrenderers change their lives by seeking help of CADAC.
The symposium was part of an eight-week community-based rehabilitation program designed by CADAC-Committee on Rehabilitation to help the surrenderers.
Other officials who graced the event were Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) acting director Senior Superintendent Jack Wanky, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency – Negros Island Region director Roselyn Borja, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group head Chief Inspector Ray Guanico, and City Health Officer Carmela Gensoli./PN
