ILOILO City – Do you have complaints against the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in Western Visayas?
The regional office has made available to stakeholders a “citizen feedback management center” that will accommodate complaints, comments or queries about infrastructure projects being undertaken by its various engineering districts.
The feedback mechanism will help the regional office monitor ongoing projects, especially critical ones such as road infrastructures, said Vivian Tan, DPWH regional information officer.
Feedback can be coursed through telephone number (033)3299064 local 57064, or email tan.vivian@dpwh.gov.ph, said Tan, also the head of the feedback center.
The center will also entertain walk-in complaints, Tan stressed.
DPWH’s Iloilo City Engineering Office has been receiving flak lately for the slow completion of road and drainage projects across the city. Motorists and commuters complained of the inconvenience this has given them.
Tan said DPWH-6 also has social media accounts where complaints can be posted: Facebook (DPWH Region VI) and Twitter (@dpwhregion6).
Through these social media accounts, netizens can have a more convenient way of voicing their concerns, said Tan.
All posts, however, will be managed by the Public Information Division of DPWH’s central office, she clarified.
Complaints coursed through hotline 8888 are also being downloaded to the center, Tan said.
So far, most of the projects being complained through 8888 were within Iloilo City, she revealed. (PNA)
