THE Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Iloilo 3rd District Engineering Office (DEO), under the leadership of OIC-District Engineer Flordelis C. Enriquez and OIC-Assistant District Engineer Renato H. Cogollo, joined the Opening Parade and Ceremonies as part of the celebration of the Barotac Viejo Patronal and Town Fiesta recently.
Not minding the scorching heat of the sun, the DPWH Dancers wearing the orange Maintenance uniform filled the streets of Barotac Viejo and entertained the crowd and motorists with their energetic dance moves. The Inter-Agency Dance Showdown was participated by six (6) other agencies including the local government unit (LGU), public schools and private organizations. After the street dancing, the dancers changed their costume for the final presentation and impressed the audience and judges with their festive theme and graceful acts and dance routines bagging the championship in the Barotac Viejo Street Dance Competition as well as the Best in Street Dance Award.
The time, effort and sunburn of the dancers were all paid off not just by the certificate, trophy and cash prize but by the happiness everyone experienced in the performance and the heartwarming moral support of the DPWH Iloilo 3rd DEO management and staff./PN
