ILOILO City – The Department of Health (DOH) has officially announced the appointment of Dr. Annabelle P. Yumang as its new director for Western Visayas.

“Pursuant to DOH Department Personnel Order No. 2025-0110 dated January 11, 2025, please be informed that Dr. Annabelle P. Yumang is the new Regional Director of the DOH Western Visayas Center for Health Development,” read the announcement.

Dr. Yumang previously served as regional director of DOH-Davao since 2018.

She succeeds Dr. Ma. Sophia S. Pulmones, who was recently designated as officer-in-charge (OIC) Director IV by Health Secretary Teodoro J. Herbosa.

With Yumang’s assumption of office, Dr. Pulmones will return to her prior position as Director III.

This leadership transition follows Secretary Herbosa’s reassignment of Dr. Adriano P. Suba-an, director IV of DOH Region 6, to the Health Regulations and Facility Development Cluster (HRFDC).

Dr. Suba-an, who served Region 6 for over three years starting in July 2021, is now tasked to report directly to the Assistant Secretary of HRFDC to fulfil his new responsibilities.

Suba-an replaced Dr. Emilia Monicimpo upon her retirement.

Prior to his appointment in Western Visayas, Suba-an served as the regional director of DOH Region 10 (Northern Mindanao)./PN
