ILOILO City – On Feb. 25, in a public address that he described as one of his last home political speeches, Ilonggo senator Franklin touted his over P30-billion worth of projects brought to the city and province of Iloilo since he entered public service some 30 years ago.
Drilon, who introduced Vice President Leni Robredo during a “people’s rally” at the Iloilo Sports Complex attended by some 40,000 Ilonggos, reiterated that he is retiring from politics.
“This is one my last home political speeches and I am glad nga matagaan ako sang opportunity nga mapakilala sa inyo kag mangayo sang bulig ninyo para kay Leni Robredo kag para kay Kiko,” said Drilon.
Robredo is running for president in tandem with Sen. Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan. Both are running as independent candidates in the May 9, 2022 elections but are members of the Liberal Party just like Drilon.
According to the Ilonggo senator, in the last 15 years he brought not less than P30 billion worth of projects to Iloilo.
“I’m a proud of that kay aton ginapalangga ang aton mga kasimanwa,” said Drilon.
Botohon naton the most honest, the most competent, the most qualified President of the Republic of the Philippines – Leni Robredo.”
Drilon described the “people’s rally” as the biggest political rally in the history of Iloilo.
“Ini nagapakita sang pagpalangga naton, sang paghigugma naton sa aton Vice President nga masunod nga pangulo sang pungsod,” said Drilon./PN
