ILOILO City – There’s another round of fuel price increase today, lamented Raymundo Parcon, president of the Western Visayas Transport Cooperative.
Public utility vehicle drivers thought last week’s rollback would be sustained, he said. They were wrong.
Today’s increase would be P3 per liter for gasoline, at least P8 per liter for diesel, and at least P9 per liter for kerosene.
PUV drivers and operators felt helpless, he revealed.
Their call remains the same – suspend the excise tax and value-added tax on fuel.
Good thing his taxi operator did not jack up the rent, he added,
Artazo said he earns P1,800 per day – minus the P600 and P900 for gasoline.
Mansor Elna, driver of a Jaro Liko-Tagbak said this is frustrating.
For his part, Hector Alliera, driver of a Jaro Liko Tagbak Terminal-Iloilo City and vice versa PUV, said: “Gusto namon nga mapanuboan lang ang gatong. Bisan sa sud-an namon gani indi kaigu.”/PN
