BACOLOD City — The body of a man who drowned and went missing in Sipalay was found floating off the coast of Barangay 5.
Robert Tajonera Jr, 26, from Barangay Gil Montilla, Sipalay City was found on Thursday two days after he was reported missing, said Inspector Willy Diel, acting Sipalay police chief.
A fisherman discovered the body at around 4 p.m.
A big wave swept Tajonera and his uncle, Alejo Delgado, and three others while fishing on Tuesday.
Delgado tried to save Tajoner, but ended up drowning with his nephew, Diel said.
Delgado’s body was found later that day, he said.
Tajonera ‘s mother, Bernadette was thankful that her son’s body was finally found.
She said her son did not even know how to swim and was only fishing for fun./PN
