ILOILO City – The sugarcane worker that the strong river current in Brgy. Dawis, Dingle, Iloilo swept away has been found.
The body of Delby Neri, 25, was recovered in Zone 2, Brgy. Cabilawan, Barotac Nuevo town.
According to Senior Insp. Ramon Coriana of Dingle, Neri was found on Thursday around 10 a.m.
Neri disappeared on July 8 while crossing the river around 9:30 a. m.
He had a companion, Jonathan Maaya. But Maaya survived.
Senior Insp. Ramon Coriana of Dingle said Neri was a resident of Brgy. Namatay.
Maaya told the police Neri did not know how to swim.
Policemen and volunteer rescue groups such as the Mountain Tigers launched a search and rescue operation right after Neri was reported missing./PN
