Drug ‘courier’ yields P1.2-M ‘shabu’

ILOILO – A high-value drug suspect yielded P1.25-million worth of shabu in a police operation in Dumanagas town yesterday, Dec. 28.
Abraham Camus was a 35-year-old tricycle driver and resident of Barangay Taculing, Bacolod City. He was arrested after handing over a sachet to a poseur buyer.

A total of 19 sachets of suspected shabu weighing 185 grams and with a standard drug price (SDP) of P1,258,000 were recovered.
The antidrug operation was carried out by the combined forces of the Dumangas police and Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit in Sitio Burol, Barangay Sapao, Dumangas around 11:50 a.m.

Police Lieutenant Glenn Soliman said the subject claimed to have been tasked to carry the seized items by a man on a motorcycle he met on Lacson Street, Bacolod City.

The suspect is now in the custody of the Dumangas police. He faces a charge for violation of Republic 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
