Drug deal gone wrong? Man shot; gunman flees

BACOLOD City – A man was shot Sunday night in front of an inn in Barangay Singcang-Airport, in what the police suspected as an illegal drug transaction gone awry.

Virgilio Lopez sustained five gunshot wounds on the body, a police report showed.

The 34-year old resident of Barangay Guinhalaran, Silay City, Negros Occidental was confined at the Bacolod Adventist Medical Center.

Police identified the gunman as Ian Rodrigazo of Barangay Villamonte. The suspect fled after the shooting and remained at large as of this writing.

Officers who brought Lopez to the hospital recovered from him six plastic packs of suspected shabu, a loaded .22 revolver, a tooter, and a lighter.

Police Station 8 investigators continued to look into the shooting.
