ILOILO City – Three suspected drug peddlers were arrested in a sting operation in Barangay San Jose Ward, Pototan, Iloilo.
Policemen of Pototan carried out Thursday’s entrapment that led to the arrest of Jessie Cartagena, 31, of Barangay Guadalupe, Janiuay, Iloilo; Deemer Bornales, 35, and a 15-year-old lad, both from Barangay Zamora, City Proper.
An undercover officer initially bought from the three a sachet of suspected shabu.
Ten more sachets of the prohibited substance worth P30,100 were seized during their arrest around 11:30 a.m.
Citing intelligence reports, police said Bornales was arrested for illegal drugs sometime in 2016 while Cartagena was arrested in 2015. Both were released through plea bargaining agreements.
The three were taken to the municipal police station, facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
