BACOLOD City – In Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental, a farmer was arrested in a drug buy-bust operation.
He was the 38-year-old Christopher “Tope” Garde, a police report showed.
Garde was caught after he sold suspected shabu to an undercover officer in Sitio Sawangan, Barangay Libacao around 6 p.m. on Sunday, the report added.
Joint personnel from the Himamaylan City police station and the 2nd Negros Occidental Police Mobile Force Company staged the entrapment operation.
Recovered from Garde’s possession were four sachets of suspected shabu valued at around P2,000 and drug paraphernalia, police said.
Garde, detained at the Himamaylan City police station lockup facility, faces charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The suspected drugs seized from him were turned over to the Crime Laboratory in Iloilo City for verification./PN
