ILOILO City – A drug surrenderee and his friend were arrested in a drug buy-bust operation in Barangay Don T. Lutero East, Janiuay, Iloilo around 6:55 p.m. on Thursday, March 23.
The 43-year-old Joffrey Pari-an, a resident of the aforementioned barangay, was nabbed after handing over one big sachet of suspected shabu for P7,000 to a poseur buyer.
His companion Kevin John Madayag, 29, was also caught, police said.
Joint operatives of the Janiuay police station and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency confiscated 25 grams of suspected shabu valued at around P170,000 from Pari-an.
Police Lieutenant Alwin Salmon, chief of the Janiuay police station, said Madayag is a newly identified drug suspect.
“Matagal naming tina-target sila and it so happened na target din sila ng PDEA at we were lucky na nakuha natin sila,” Salmon added.
The suspects were detained at the Janiuay police station, facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
