BACOLOD City – A drug suspect was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Purok Punao, Barangay Zone 5, Talisay City, Negros Occidental.
Five sachets of suspected shabu worth P6,800 were recovered from John Rey Abelarde, 32, a police report showed.
Prior to his apprehension on May 22, the suspect was subjected to a “test buy”. He sold a sachet of the prohibited substance to an undercover cop for P500, police said.
Abelarde was detained at the Talisay City police station. Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 were being prepared for filing against him./PN
