BACOLOD City – Allan Bolivar was detained at the police station in EB Magalona, Negros Occidental for a drug-related charge.
The 41-year-old suspect was arrested on Tuesday. He was found dead in his detention cell the following day.
A native of Binalbagan town, the suspect committed suicide by hanging, police said.
His body was found in the comfort room of the cell Wednesday. His T-shirt and a pair of short pants were tied to the grills and around his neck, said the police.
Bolivar was taken to the Municipal Health Center where Dr. Edmund Janeo pronounced him “dead on arrival.”
Police said the drug suspect was arrested in Barangay Damgo, EB Magalona where he was temporarily residing.
Police seized from him four plastic packs of suspected shabu with an estimated market value of P2,000 and a P500 buy-bust money./PN
