BACOLOD City – A drug suspect in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental died when unidentified gunmen riding in tandem in a motorcycle shot him along H.C. Rigor Street in Barangay 3 in that city at around 5:15 p.m. Friday.
Superintendent D’Artagnan Katalbas Jr., San Carlos City police head, identified the victim as Joseph Alinton Fedrequilan, 39, of Dos Hermanos Street, Barangay 3, San Carlos City.
Fedrequilan sustained gunshot wounds on the different parts of his body. He was rushed to the San Carlos City Hospital for treatment but died later in the day.
The victim was once a subject of a buy-bust operation but eluded arrest despite yielding about 50 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated market value of more than P300,000.
Fedrequilan has a pending case for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Police recovered from the crime scene five fired cartridges of a .45 pistol.
Investigation was ongoing. San Carlos City police believe the motive was drug-related./PN
