ILOILO City – A drug suspect yielded P95,200 worth of suspected shabu in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Taal, Molo district around 12:20 a.m. yesterday, Feb. 7.

Jordan T. Alba, 44, was a resident of Barangay Bakhaw, Mandurriao.

One large sachet and two small sachets of suspected shabu weighing more or less 14 grams were recovered from Alba.

The operation was conducted by the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) and Iloilo City Police Station 4.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Antonio Benitez Jr., this was his first antidrug operation as new CDEU head. They have been monitoring the suspect for nearly three weeks.

Benitez added that since antidrug operations in Barangay Bakhaw are heating up, drug suspects are moving to other parts of the city.

Alba was arrested in 2017 for illegal drugs but was able to secure a plea bargain in 2019.

The suspect is being held by the Molo police for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
