ILOILO City – The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) procured 5,000 more drug test kits for the ongoing drug test among its organic police personnel across Western Visayas.
“Drug testing will not stop until PRO-6 achieves 100 percent drug-tested organic personnel,” said PRO-6 director Brigadier General Sidney Villaflor.
The drug test kits’ procurement was made possible through the Philippine Anti-Drug Strategy (PADS) fund, added Villaflor.
Since the assumption to office of Villaflor, 5,822 or 43.68 percent of the 13,329 total PRO-6 organic personnel have already undergone drug tests.
Two personnel tested positive and will face appropriate charges and be dismissed from the service.
In June, Villaflor also purchased 5,000 drug test kits.
“By next week, I will again add another 5,000 drug-test kits (third batch) to achieve our target. It is a tangible way to check our personnel’’s integrity and commitment to duty,” Villaflor said./PN
