Drug war scorecard: PRO-6 nabs 301, seizes P59-M illegal drugs in March

ILOILO City – A total of 301 individuals were arrested and over P59 million worth of illegal drugs were confiscated during the month-long anti-drug operations of the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) across Western Visayas in March 2025.

Based on PRO-6 data, police operatives seized 8,681 grams of shabu valued at P59 million and 3,161 grams of marijuana worth P379,360 in 242 operations conducted in various provinces and cities in the region.

The Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) posted the biggest drug haul, accounting for P25.6 million worth of illegal substances, followed by the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) with P17.8 million and the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) with P7.89 million.

In terms of arrests, the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) topped the list with 105 apprehensions, making up 34.9 percent of the total. ICPO followed with 69 arrests, while BCPO recorded 50.

Other arrest tallies include:

* IPPO – 49 arrests

* Capiz PPO – 10 arrests

* Aklan PPO– 8 arrests

* Antique PPO– 6 arrests

* Guimaras PPO – 4 arrests

PRO-6 regional director Police Brigadier General Jack Wanky commended unit commanders and personnel for their accomplishments, attributing the results to strengthened collaboration with communities and other government agencies.

“These figures reflect your dedication to our campaign to eliminate the threat of illegal drugs in every community,” Wanky said. “With continued community support, we can identify those engaged in illegal activities and hold them accountable.”

All arrested individuals are facing charges for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
