Drugs, gun land 2 Cadiz men in jail

BACOLOD City – Not only suspected drugs but a gun was also recovered from two drug suspects in Barangay Zone 1, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental.

Cadiz City police head Chief Inspector Rocky Desear identified the suspects as the 30-year-old Clinton Santillan and 38-year-old Romuel Supremo – both residents of Barangay Zone 6, Cadiz City.

Santillan and Supremo were caught in a drug entrapment operation that a team led by Inspector Eugenio Rodas conducted at a boardinghouse along Badlon Street around 12:30 p.m. on Friday.

When frisked, police recovered five sachets of suspected shabu from the suspects.

A .9mm gun loaded with eight live bullets was also recovered from Supremo.

The two were detained at the Cadiz City police station lockup facility, facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Charges for violation of Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, were also filed against Supremo./PN
