BACOLOD City – A 29-year-old man drowned in a river in Hacienda Calenderia, Barangay Purisima, Manapla, Negros Occidental on Tuesday afternoon, June 18.
Ranie Concepcion was a resident of the town’s Crossing Pait, Barangay 1-A.
Police Captain Marion Buenaflor, deputy chief of the Manapla police station, said Concepcion was having a drinking binge with his friends near the river.
He was drunk when he later went swimming, Buenaflor added.
The rescue team found the victim’s body at the deep portion of the river.
Police said he was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival./PN
