BACOLOD City – A drunken man was believed to have drowned in a river in Barangay San Juan, Binalbagan, Negros Occidental.
He was identified as 36-year-old Romelo Elefan Sr. of Barangay Marina, Binalbagan.
Police investigators said Elefan and his 33-year-old wife Evelyn with their four-year-old son were crossing the river when the victim was hit by a strong current due to heavy rains.
Elefan’s wife and son survived in the incident, the investigators added.
Police officers found Elefan’s body around 2 p.m. on Sunday./PN
