ILOILO City – What started out as a drinking spree turned deadly between a father and his son in Barangay Licu-an, Dingle, Iloilo.
Reynaldo Humpay, 69, had a heated argument with his son Randy, 46, a police report showed.
The altercation led to Randy stabbing his father at around 9 p.m. on May 31. Police said the suspect used a 10-inch knife.
Reynaldo, despite sustaining stab wounds on the chest and stomach, managed to retaliate by hitting his son’s head using a hard object.
Reynaldo was rushed to the Dingle Rural Health Clinic where the attending physician declared him “dead on arrival.”
Randy meanwhile sustained injuries on the head. He was brought to the Western Visayas Medical Center in Mandurriao district for medical treatment. Charges will be filed against him.
Officers of the Dingle police station said the killing may have been triggered by a land conflict between the Humpays./PN
