ILOILO City – Inside a police station jail was where a 65-year-old man landed for allegedly throwing a stone at a resident of Barangay Santo Rosario-Duran, City Proper.
Ronnie Salgado of the same village was detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 1 along General Luna Street, a police report showed.
Ernesto Benjamin, 57, reported to the police at around 10:30 p.m. on April 7 that he just went out of his house that night and found Salgado drunk.
Salgado suddenly threw a stone at him, hitting him on the head and wounding him as a result, Benjamin claimed.
Benjamin placed Salgado under citizen arrest with the help of Barangay Kagawad Edsel Adarga and turned him over to Police Station 1 with assistance from police officers on patrol.
Personnel from the Iloilo City Emergency Response team treated the wound of Benjamin and referred him to the Western Visayas Medical Center in Mandurriao district./PN
