ILOILO City – The Department of Social Welfare and Development will give P6,900,000 worth of livelihood assistance grant (LAG) to about 570 beneficiaries in Iloilo province on or before April 18 this year.
The pay-outs for the LAG in Dueñas, Bingawan, and Zarraga towns and Passi City are scheduled from April 9 to 18, DSWD 6 regional information officer May Rago Castillo announced.
Rago said local government unit officials, particularly the local social welfare and development officers, informed the beneficiaries of their specific schedules during the agency’s virtual presser dubbed as DSWD Serbisyo on April 12.
A total of 100 beneficiaries from Passi City are qualified to get the livelihood assistance amounting to P1,000,000.
In Dueñas town, some 50 families will receive the aid with an allocation of P500,000.
Around 125 families will benefit from Bingawan town and 295 families from Zarraga with funding of P1,000,000 and P4,400,000, respectively.
LAG is a recovery and rehabilitation program of government through the agency’s Sustainable Livelihood Program to serve families whose livelihood were affected due to quarantine measures amid the health crisis.(PIA 6/PN)
