DSWD completes enumeration of cash grant beneficiaries in Antique

SAN JOSE DE BUENAVISTA, Antique – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has completed the enumeration of 24 indigenous peoples (IP) household beneficiaries of the modified conditional cash transfer grant (MCCT) in Antique.

Belen Gebusion of the DSWD Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) said Thursday the supposed release of cash grants last month for December 2021 to January 2022 was suspended after the Commission on Audit audit observed that the IP-beneficiaries are not included in the Listahanan 3.

Under Republic Act 11310 or 4Ps Act, the DSWD shall release cash grants to qualified household beneficiaries on the 4Ps based on the Listahanan.

Previously, the DSWD only used as the basis for their inclusion in the MCCT-IP the endorsement of their tribal chieftains and the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples.

ā€œIn Western Visayas, there were 289 IP household-beneficiaries, of whom 24 are from Antique who were not included in the Listahanan 3,ā€ she said.

The enumeration conducted on March 26 was completed on April 18. Their names will be submitted to the DSWD central office for inclusion at the Listahanan 3.

ā€œI hope that the IPs could receive their cash grants sooner once their names are already at the Listahanan 3,ā€ Gebusion said.

Under the MCCT-IP, the beneficiaries receive PHP750 monthly for their health needs and the educational grant of a maximum of three children per household — PHP700 for senior high school, PHP500 for junior high school, and PHP300 elementary monthly. (PNA)
