ILOILO City ā€“ Consumers need not to travel the whole region anymore just to buy local products from the provinces of Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, Iloilo and Negros Occidental.

A website for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Western Visayas has been provided by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 6 for these entrepreneurs to promote their products globally.

With the new website www.r6heritageshoppe.com, consumers from all over the world may now have a taste of Western Visayas.

The website provides a wide range of local products varying from apparels, bags, barongs, processed foods, gifts, decors and housewares, among others for the consumers to choose from.

Initially, 50 MSMEs in Region 6 are featured in the website.

The website features entrepreneurs who were able to further develop and leveled-up their brands and packaging through the various programs and initiatives of the agency such as seminars and trade fairs.

ā€œWe believe that an online presence is significant for market penetration. With this website, local products are not only promoted within their communities or in the region, but also globally,ā€ said DTI-6 OIC regional director RebeccaRascon.

Among the products already up on the web store are turmeric teas, local Arabica ground coffee beans, natural oils, as well as several local delicacies (butter scotch, piaya, bandi), among others./PN
