ILOILO City – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 6 recently warned consumers on individuals who pose as DTI personnel.
The agency has received reports saying there are “unscrupulous” individuals who pretend to be employees of the DTI “especially when raising consumer complaints in some establishments.”
In a press release, the DTI urges the staff of the establishment to always ask for that individual’s identification card for verification purposes.
The identification card must be laminated, signed by the employee with his picture on it and signed by the DTI secretary and regional or provincial director. It must not also bear any erasures or is tampered. (With a report from DTI/PN)
