ILOILO City – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) here held a weeklong fair at Robinsons Place Iloilo for the benefit of super typhoon “Yolanda” victims in the province.
The fair opened on June 2 and culminated yesterday.
Held for the second time this year, the fair was participated in by 22 micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) who were affected by the destructive typhoon.
These MSMEs came from the towns of Estancia, San Dionisio, Lemery and Anilao, all located in the northern part of Iloilo.
Other participating MSMEs came from the municipalities of Dueñas, Miag-ao, Tigbauan, Leon and the city of Passi.
Among the products available in the said fair were processed food, crafts and woven items as well as organic, herbal and natural products.
DTI-Iloilo said in a report that the fair aims to support the participating entrepreneurs, especially those who were affected by typhoon “Yolanda” to quickly recover and progress amidst losses and damages they had due to the calamity.
On its first run last year, the same trade fair was able to generate a total of P280,000 and was participated in by around 20 MSMEs. (With reports from PIA)/PN
