ILOILO City – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Guimaras Provincial Office has intensified its monitoring of retail stores selling liquid pertroleum gas (LPG) and depots selling cement in the municipalities of San Lorenzo and Sibunag in the Province of Guimaras.
DTI regularly conducts the monitoring on prices and supply of cement in the island province to ensure its availability in the market.
Based on data gathered, cement prices remain stable for the past three months in Guimaras.
The three-month prevailing prices of 40kg bag cement in Guimaras is:

Empress Cement, which is imported, is available in JAFC Construction Supply and New Guimaras Home and Agri Center Corporation, Barangay San Miguel, Jordan, Guimaras.
It is an imported cement brand with a Product Standard (PS) logo. This cement comes from Vietnam. As of the recent monitoring, store owners said they do not encounter shortage of cement in the province.
Meanwhile, a P20 increase in prices of LPG was noted by the DTI
As of Aug. 16, the prices of 11-kg Gasul LPG tank at different stores are:
- Cabano Trading – P950
- NG Variety – P970
- JJ Vilches Store – P925
- DEX-C Store – P950
Retail stores covered by monitoring in San Lorenzo were JJ Vilches Hardware, Cabano Trading and NG Store; and, DEX-C Store in Sibunag, Guimaras. The supply of LPG in San Lorenzo and Sibunag comes from Iloilo Fairway Marketing–Jordan Branch. Delivery is dependent upon the request of store owners.
The activity aims to ensure the safety and compliance of these stores selling LPG under the Philippine National Standards. The DTI Guimaras advises consumers to check the following when buying LPG tanks:
- Name and address of manufacturer
- Brand Name (example: Gasul)
- Tare Weight (Weight without content)
- Philippine Standard Logo. Product Standards (PS) for locally made and Import Commodity Clearance (ICC) for imported LPG./PN
