ILOILO City – The government will be giving a house and lot as incentive to the valedictorian of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) “Alab-Kalis” Class of 2022.
The top graduate is Cadet Ernie Alarba Padernilla who hails from Barangay Dalicanan, Passi City, Iloilo.
“Your valedictorian, I am talking on behalf [of the government], may house and lot ‘yan (he will receive a house and lot),” announced President Rodrigo Roa Duterte who attended the PNPA graduation ceremony on April 21 at Camp General Mariano N. Castañeda in Silang, Cavite.
Padernilla led the 229 graduates. He received from Duterte the Presidential Kampilan, Chief PNP Kampilan, Best in Forensic Science Award, and Best in Thesis Award.
Born on March 22, 1997, Padernilla, is the youngest child among four siblings. His father Renato is a farmer and his mother Elsa is a homemaker.
According to an article shared by the PNPA, at a young age Padernilla was exposed to how hard life was but that through perseverance and dedication he overcame the difficulties.
Before entering the PNPA, Padernilla finished his Criminology course at Passi City College as a Magna Cum Laude and successfully passed the Licensure Examination for Criminologists in 2017.
The Passi City government, meanwhile, congratulated Padernill, who was once its scholar.
“We are beyond proud of you,” the city government said in a statement./PN
