Dubai-based Filipino cager commits to DLSU juniors

MANILA –  Dubai, United Arab Emirates-based Filipino La John Andres is heading back to the Philippines for UAAP juniors basketball action following the commitment of his services to the De La Salle Zobel Junior Archers.

“La is a versatile player who can play guard and forward position,” Bacolodnon Eugene Opu-an of Mavericks Basketball Academy in Dubai, United Arab Emirates told Panay News.

The 16-year-old Andres, for his part, said he is excited to showcase his game in the UAAP.

“I just want to thank coach Eugene and coach Aaron Lugtu of Mavericks Basketball Academy for keeping my head in the game. I can’t do it po without you guys. Glory to God po,” he wrote on his Facebook post.

The six-foot-three Andres is a welcome addition for the Junior Archers squad of head coach Boris Aldeguer which is aiming to bounce back after finishing seventh place in Season 82 with a 3-11 win-loss record./PN
